Bazley Beach

Geography
The sugar-producing centre of Bazley Beach lies just north of the Ifafa River, about 45km's from Port Shepstone along KZN's South Coast.

History
Bazley Beach is named after the sugar pioneer John Bazley, who established a sugar mill here in the mid 1800's.

Science & Nature
The little seaside village is well loved by holiday-makers for its pristine coastal beauty. The year-round warm climate adds to this appeal. Along KwaZulu-Natal's South Coast are numerous game reserves where a variety of game and bird life can be viewed. In June or July each year "Sardine Fever" strikes the KwaZulu-Natal coast when the oceans seem to be filled to the brim with millions of the tiny fish that migrate northwards.

Entertainment
The sun and the surf keep Bazley Beach locals and holiday-makers occupied. It is a popular spot for windsurfers and jet-ski riders.

Sport
Hiking and mountain biking are popular sports in this lovely part of South Africa's eastern coastline. The nearest golf course is at Scottburgh, about 20 minutes away.
